Thousands Attend Genocide Movie Hotel Rwanda Premiere in Kigali

Three days before the 11th anniversary of the 1994 Rwanda genocide, thousands of Rwandans attended the premiere of Hotel Rwanda, a Hollywood movie that gave an account of one man's attempt to save lives from the slaughter.The Oscar-nominated movie was shown Monday night in the capital Kigali's main stadium.Hotel Rwanda is based on the true story of Paul Rusesabagina, whose hotel in Kigali became a safe haven for over 1,200 people fleeing militiamen at the height of the genocide.
