President Reagan:Greatest American


Former US President Ronald Reagan was voted "greatest American of all time" by fellow citizens.
Reagan died last year at the age of 93.
In the fresh survey, he topped a list of ten contenders, including six former Presidents.Abraham Lincoln, who abolished slavery, came second, followed by Martin Luther King, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, George W Bush, Bill Clinton, Elvis Presley, Oprah Winfrey and Franklin D Roosevelt.The vote was organized by the Discovery Channel and AOL, and participated by more than 2.4 million Americans.

wow. how unfortunate that they were only able to choose a great american that resides in recent history, and that there was only one woman on the list...Personally, I disagee with these polls. They don't take into accoutn that many Americans don't know who half those people are!

You bring up some great points..not to take away a thing from President Reagan...maybe a list of the Greatest Americans...and maybe theyll let us in on the vote next time : )
