Emergency landing on street averts disaster

3 on plane suffer minor injuries in fiery Fort Lauderdale landing

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - A pilot and two other men on board walked away from the fiery crash landing of their DC-3 on a residential street Monday afternoon. The pilot steered the plane to the emergency landing after it experienced trouble soon after takeoff.The three suffered minor back and neck injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution, said Sgt. Andy Talen of the Fort Lauderdale police.
