Ships break through Newfoundland blockade

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND - Two ships broke through a blockade made up of more than 30 crab vessels on Tuesday afternoon, escaping a flotilla that has disrupted traffic in Newfoundland's St. John's Harbour since Monday morning.A third vessel, the Maesk Placentia, also tried but failed to get past the crab boats. It got through the Narrows – the famously thin entrance to St. John's Harbour – but then took a sharp turn.Fishing boats chased it and appeared to prevent it from leaving the area.
