Caught On Tape: Boat Swept Under Floodgate

AUSTIN, Texas -- A Texas boater got the ride of a lifetime when his craft became trapped against a dam's floodgate on Tuesday.Rescuers said the man was boating on Lake Austin with another passenger when the vessel's motor suddenly died.The current swept the boat against the dam, slamming it repeatedly into the wall.The boat crumbled as it was swept under the floodgate.

As the boat started sinking, Monica Barnes was rescued by quick-thinking LCRA employees who lowered a rope.Dirk Hoekstra was sucked through the dam and swept into Town Lake.
