Presidential Debate For 2004 A Draw?
Both candidates I believe did a fine job last night and all seems to have gone rather smoothly.
I "Happened" To Be On US1 and Granada as the Presidential Convoy And Later the Kerry Convoy drove down US1 and Arrived At the University of Miami. I saw the Limo with the Flags and the Secret Service and all but this ubfolded differently from times like when then Vice President AL Gores Convoy came down 36 st behind airport here in Miami.Back then we were blocked off on side walks and allowed to remain there until the convoy passed..... however last night as the Presidential Convoy approached The Secret Service declared the area be cleared for national security reasons.There was basically 2 crowds on opposite sides of the Granada....Our crowd was told to get back to a certain area(basically about 50 ft from US1) behind an 8 ft fence....... and the other crowd was told to move as well(where i dont know..they moved out of site lol )...... anywho.....we were all on the SouthWest Side Of UM....... Police Officers From Various Agencies were on site... A heavy heavy police presence...... even mounted patrol (on horse)....... Basically we hung out with the cops (werent a bunch of pricks) for about an hour and a half........ "City of Miamis Finest" I said to two Blonde Female officers from City of Miami Bike Patrol...... I Later Drove By the Miami Arena To Check Out the Scene.............. It was short time after 9p.m. that we got to the area and there was several rediculously long lines to enter the Arena.There were many many people just standing there in lines that were going nowhere...long lines that stretched from the entrance doors.....down the stairs and winding around the corners in 2 directions going down the block......other people were walking back to their cars .There was a small area to the right were some people that looked like they were getting in .Police visibility was miniscule.If I saw 5 cop cars that was a lot.Yes in a bad area like this. I could tell all those people had parked in BFE and walked through these treacherous streets.I drove around a bit and got the hell out of there..........hehehe
