U.S. Accuses Two Syrians, Damascus Company of Aiding Hussein
The U.S. Treasury Department today barred Americans from doing business with two Syrians and a Damascus-based company, saying they had aided Saddam Hussein's Iraqi regime before and after the U.S. invasion of 2003.
The Treasury named SES International Corp. and General Zuhayr Shalish and Asif Shalish in its order, which also freezes any assets they hold in the U.S. The two men aided Hussein's son Uday and former presidential secretary Abid Hamid Mahmud al- Tikriti, the Treasury said.
