Lionel Tate faces charges in holdup and parole violation

Lionel Tate, the young killer who got a second, then a third, chance at freedom, will almost certainly go to prison if convicted on charges he held up a pizza deliveryman.
For Tate's supporters, many of whom campaigned to free him of a life sentence, news of Monday night's arrest was met with dismay and shock. Critics, however, say they expected no less...Tate, 18, is being held without bond at the Broward County Jail. He is expected to appear today on a video hookup from jail for his first court appearance.
A probation violation hearing to determine Tate's fate following Monday's arrest has not yet been scheduled, but criminal experts say the culinary arts student is almost certain to face significant jail time. The judge could extend his probation, or he could give the teenager life in prison after hearing the state's evidence on Monday's assault and robbery charge.
