The faith of a Mountie

Mounties march behind the hearse carrying the coffin of slain RCMP Const. Peter Schiemann
In the lovely, sunlit church where he was confirmed, where his pastor father once preached and where his family has worshipped for almost two decades, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constable Peter Schiemann was yesterday bid farewell...
A drug raid gone bad left four young officers lying dead in a metal shed.Constable Schiemann, at just 25 the youngest of the four Mounties slain last Thursday. His father Don, a Lutheran pastor, spoke of how he had baptized his son, confirmed him and would now have to bury him.
About 10,000 mourners, police officers and dignitaries including Prime Minister Paul Martin and Gov.Gen Adrienne Clarkson are expected to attend a national memorial service in Edmonton on Thursday.Services for Const. Leo Johnston, 32, Anthony Gordon, 28 & 29-year-old Brock Myro(only on the job since Feb 14th) will be later this week.May they rest in Peace and our hearts go out to friends, family & colleagues.
