Exclusive: SA-Austin Commuter Rail Proposed

Another effort will be mounted to build a commuter rail line between San Antonio and Austin. Plans will be unveiled early next month for the Austin San Antonio Intermunicipal Commuter Rail District.They plan to use passenger trains on a 110 mile stretch of existing Union Pacific rail track stretching from Kelly USA in southwest San Antonio to Georgetown, north of Austin. There are plans for 14 stations along the route, including three in San Antonio.
